Learn how to create product options, link them to inventory, assign them to products, and then use them during sales.
When selling certain products, you may need to ask the customer about their preferences, such as the type of milk with coffee, choice of gift wrapping, cup size, and other options.
Create a Modifier Set

Go to Products & Inventory > Modifiers.

Click on "New Modifier Set."

Enter the following information:

Modifier Set Name: A name that helps you identify the modifier set on the platform, such as Type of Milk.

Display Title: The text that appears to the cashier when selecting the product, such as Choose the type of milk or Choose additions.

Add the following details for each option:

Option Name.
-
Retail Price including Tax.
-
Tax Type.
Link the Option to Inventory

Click on "Link Stock."

Enter the quantity you want to deduct from inventory when selling the product with this option.

Select the product whose inventory the quantity will be deducted from.

Click on "Save."
💡 Example: When linking the "Almond Milk" option to the almond milk product and specifying the usage quantity, the specified quantity is deducted from the almond milk inventory when the drink is sold with this option.
Set the Default Option
Check ✔️ "Pre-select" if you want the option to be selected by default when adding the product on the sales screen.
Set Selection Rules

Enable "Require a selection" if selecting an option is mandatory during a sale.

Enable "Allow more than one modifier to be selected" if you want users to select more than one option from the same modifier set.
- Minimum Selection: The minimum number of options that must be selected.
- Maximum Selection: The maximum number of options that can be selected.

Click on "Create Modifier Set."
Assign the Modifier Set to Products
After creating the modifier set, assign it to the products you want it to appear with during sales.
First Method: From the Modifiers page
- Go to Products & Inventory > Modifiers.
- Click on the three dots (…) next to the desired modifier set.
- Click on "Assign to Products."
- Click on "+ Add" next to the product.
- Repeat the steps to assign the set to other products.
ℹ️ Note: To remove the modifier set from a product, click on "- Remove" next to the product.
Second Method: From Product Details
- Go to Products & Inventory > Products.
- Open the desired product.
- Scroll to the bottom of the product details page.
- Enable the "Modifiers" option.
- Search for the name of the modifier set.
- Choose the set you want to assign to the product.
Using Product Options During Sale

Go to Sales & Customers > Point of Sale > Registers.

Select the desired product.

Choose the required options, then specify the product quantity.

Click on "Add to Order."
ℹ️ Note: The option price cannot be changed from the sales screen. You can set or change the price from the Modifiers page.
Duplicate a Modifier Set

Go to Products & Inventory > Modifiers.

Click the three dots (…) next to the modifier set you want to duplicate.

Click on "Duplicate Modifier Set."
💡 Duplicating a modifier set helps you create similar sets faster without adding the options again.
Delete a Modifier Set
- Go to Products & Inventory > Modifiers.
- Click the three dots (…) next to the desired modifier set.
- Click on "Delete Set."
- Confirm the deletion.
⚠️ Warning: Deleting a modifier set cannot be undone. Once deleted, it is removed from all products assigned to it.
