One of the available methods for inventory counting on the Rewaa platform is counting products with Barcode scanners, by passing the scanner over the product's barcode several times to count the quantity in stock. Inventory counting through barcode scanners helps you count products faster.
Steps for Inventory Counting with Barcode Scanners
To count products using a barcode scanner, go to:
- Products and Inventory > Inventory Count > Create Inventory Count.
Add the following data:
- Location: The branch whose products you are counting.
- The inventory name and date appear automatically, you can modify them as you see fit.
Count your inventory:
- After selecting the branch, all products in the branch will appear in the (Product Name) column, with the available quantities on the Rewaa platform in the (Expected) column.
ℹ️ Products of a single type and multiple products appear, but bundled products will not appear because they are a collection of products counted based on the items they contain. Example: You have a bundled product called: Cake, which contains oil, eggs, flour, and other products. Count these products, noting that any change in their quantities will directly reflect on the bundled product.
- Click on the barcode icon next to the search field.
- Place the cursor (mouse) in the empty field, read the product's barcode, press the (Enter) key.
- Products whose barcodes you have read appear with a quantity of (1).
- Read the barcode more than once to increase the quantity.
- You can click the (🖋️) icon to manually adjust the quantity.
- After finishing, click on Add to Inventory. The quantities will be added in the (Counted) column.

Difference: The difference automatically appears, referring to the quantity difference between those on the platform and those you have counted:

If the counted quantity is less, the difference appears negative, e.g., in the products section (Product Inventory on Rewaa platform) you have (9 pieces), when you perform the actual count you find (only one piece), write the quantity you have, the difference will appear (-8), indicating a difference of (8 pieces) between the platform and the actual quantity you have.

If the counted quantity equals the quantity on the Rewaa platform, the difference shows as 0, indicating no difference between the actual quantities and those on the platform.

If the counted quantity is more, the difference appears positive.

Cost: The cost value for the products you have counted, appears based on the product cost you added in the product data in the products section (Product Inventory on Rewaa platform). Example:

If the counted quantity is less, the product cost appears negative according to the quantity difference, e.g., a product with a unit value of (70 Riyals), in the products section (Product Inventory on Rewaa platform). You have (9 pieces), when you perform the actual count you find (only one piece), when you add the actual quantity you have, the cost appears as (- 560 Riyals).

If the counted quantity equals the quantity on the Rewaa platform, the cost shows as 0.

If the counted quantity is more, the cost appears positive, according to the quantity difference.

ℹ️ The product cost affects the inventory value and net income, whether it increases or decreases.
- When you finish counting all products, click: Complete.
Export Counted Products to an (Excel) File
- After completing the count, it is added to the inventory count list, click on the count number to enter the details.
- You can see the details of the count and the products you have counted.
- Click on Export Products at the top of the page, an (Excel) file will be downloaded to your device, you can view it after the download is complete.

Tracked products are counted directly from the platform by specifying the product name or SKU and then counting according to the batch or serial number, they cannot be counted through a barcode scanner.
5- Can I save the count and complete it later?
Yes, you can. Click: Save for later, you can complete the count at any time.
ℹ️ If the product quantity changes due to sales, purchases, or returns during the pause in counting, a window will appear when resuming the count at the top of the page indicating a change in the product quantity.
6- I have more than one branch and all products have equal quantities, can I count more than one branch together?
You can count each branch separately, count the first branch, and when finished, count the second branch using the same steps outlined earlier.
7- Is there a specific report for inventory counting?
Yes, you can view the inventory count report through Reports > Inventory > Inventory Count Summary Report.
