How to edit product data on the platform

After adding products to the platform, you may need to manually edit their data to correct an entry error or to add new details such as the product name, SKU, and other data. In this article, you will learn the details.

#Edit Product Name

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on the product name.

3. Edit the product name.

4. Click "Save".

#Edit Product SKU

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on the product name.

3. Edit the SKU.

4. Click "Save".

#Edit Main Product Image

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on the product name.

3. Check ✔️ the desired image.

4. Select "Set as Main Image".

5. Click "Save".

#Add a New Package to Previously Added Packages:

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on the product name.

3. Go to the option (This product is sold in a package).

4. Add new packages.

5. Press the Enter key after each addition.

6. Click "Save".

#Add a New Type to a Multi-type Product

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on the product name > Product Options and Values.

3. Add new options and values.

4. Press the Enter key after each addition.

5. Click "Save".

#Edit Product Prices

#Edit Product Price Individually

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on the product name.

3. Go to Product Quantities and Prices.

4. Edit the prices.

5. Click "Save".

#Edit Product Prices in Bulk

(You can edit prices for up to 200 products at once!)

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on Actions > Edit Prices.

3. Choose the desired branch (if you have more than one branch).

4. A window will appear containing product data and selling prices.

5. To edit wholesale price and tax type: check (✔️) the fields in the sidebar.

6. Edit the prices you want.

7. Click "Review and Save Changes".

8. Review the prices and ensure their accuracy.

9. Click "Confirm Changes".

   • To apply the edit to all branches: enable the option (Apply to all locations).

   • If the number of products is more than 200, enable the option (Remove updated products from the edit list).

10. Click "Save and Close".

11. The system will start updating the prices; when finished, click "View Products" to return to the product list.

ℹ️ Note:

• To know the profit margin from the product after editing the price, check the option: (Added Profit Margin).

• The system calculates the retail margin based on the product cost and the selling price without tax.

• If you enter the selling price including tax, the system will first deduct the tax and then calculate the percentage.

#Edit Product Tax

1. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

2. Click on the product name.

3. Go to Product Quantities and Prices.

4. Edit the tax type on this product.

5. Click "Save".

#Copy Product Data Between Branches

ℹ️ This feature helps you copy product data to other branches, instead of re-entering it in each branch.

1. Go to Settings > Settings.

2. Enable the option (Edit Product Quantities) at the end of the page.

   ⚠️ When the accounting application is installed, this option is not available.

   ⚠️ It is not recommended to manually edit quantities because the inventory is affected by operational processes such as purchase or inventory.

3. Go to Products and Inventory > Products.

4. Click on the product name.

5. Go to Product Quantities and Prices.

6. Click on the (Select Fields) list.

7. Check (✔️) the data you want to copy.

8. Click "Copy". The data will be copied to other branches.

9. Click "Save".

1- Why does the quantity field appear disabled even though I haven't installed the accounting system?

The quantity field appears disabled by default to ensure no manual changes occur that could lead to errors in quantities. You can enable the option to manually edit the quantity through settings. To know the steps, click here.

2- Why can't the product quantities be manually edited after installing the accounting application?

Because operations are linked to the accounting system, and manual editing causes accounting errors. Use the available method according to your situation:

• To update the quantity by increase: use a purchase invoice.

• To update the quantity by increase or decrease: use inventory, or inventory transfer.

3- Does linking the product to the online store (Salla, Zid) get affected when its data is edited?

No, the product linked with its platforms is not affected when its data is edited.

4- Do the quantities of products in the online store (Salla, Zid) get affected when changed on the Riwaa platform?

Yes, they are directly affected whether increased or decreased. The products section in the Riwaa platform is the main source of quantities.

5- Can product data be copied to only one branch?

No, when there is more than one branch, the data is copied to all added branches.
