Track your financial account movements using the general ledger

General Ledger is a book or digital record used to record financial transactions related to a specific financial period, usually one fiscal year. The Riwaa platform reflects all your financial transaction entries in the General Ledger report so you can issue it updated at any moment.

#Benefits of the General Ledger

1. Records all your financial transactions in an organized manner.

2. Helps you ensure the accuracy of your financial data.

3. Shows the total assets, liabilities, and all accounting operations, arranged by debit and credit.

#Accessing the General Ledger

1. Go to Reports > Financial > General Ledger.

2. Click on the report to view the details.

3. Select the desired time period.

4. The data appears directly according to the selected options.

#Filtering Search Results

You can filter search results when adding cost centers:

1. Click on "Filter".

2. Select the cost center.

3. Click on "Apply".

4. Results appear according to the selected cost center.

ℹ️ If you have not added cost centers, a window will appear (No cost centers have been added).

#How to Read the General Ledger

• Accounts are displayed according to their order in the chart of accounts.

• The account name appears on the right of the list, and debit, credit, and balance appear on the left of the list.

• The total balance appears under each group of accounts, then the total for the account as a whole appears.

#Exporting the Report

1. Click on "Export":

   • To export the report to an Excel file, choose: Excel File.

   • To export the report to a PDF file, choose: PDF File.

2. The file is downloaded to your device.

1. What is the benefit of the filter option next to the date?
   It is used to filter results by cost centers.

2. Can I export a report with supplier names and their balances?
   Yes, through the General Ledger report. Go to Creditors from Suppliers > Click on Show Sub Accounts > Export.

3. Can I export a report with customer names and their balances?
   Yes, through the General Ledger report. Go to Debtors from Customers > Click on Show Sub Accounts > Export.

4. Do archived accounts appear in the General Ledger?

   Yes, if an entry was made on the account and then it was archived, it will appear in the General Ledger report with the word (Archived) indicated below the account.

5. Can I print the General Ledger from the platform?

   The General Ledger cannot be printed directly from the platform, but you can print it after exporting it to an Excel or PDF file.
