How to Read the Balance Sheet
-
The list starts with assets, then liabilities, followed by equity.
-
The account name appears on the right side of the list and the account balance (total) on the left side.
-
Sub-accounts are displayed according to their order in the tree under the main accounts.
-
The total balance appears under each group of accounts, then the total for the account as a whole.
💡 Example: You have two branches (Dammam, Riyadh), you added one cash register in the Dammam branch, and two in Riyadh. The accounts appear as follows:
-
Account name.
-
First branch, the added register and available balance, total balance.
-
Second branch, all added registers, balance for each register, total balance for the registers.
-
Total cash in the register for all branches.
ℹ️ The row dedicated to the total is gray.
ℹ️ If the number is in parentheses, it means the balance is negative (debit).
ℹ️ To know the total: the positive total balance is calculated, then the negative total balance is subtracted.
-
-
At the end of the list appears:
-
Net income for the period: Net profit and loss for the period, automatically transferred to equity when the financial period is closed.
